There are many reasons why you might be interested in creating a nontoxic home and workspace. The most obvious, of course, is that it is better for your own health, the health of those who visit or live with you, and the health of your colleagues. Exposure to toxic chemicals can aggravate symptoms of allergy and compromise the immune system to the point where disabling sensitivities to certain chemicals can develop. Over a long period to time, toxic products can contribute to the development of cancer, birth defects, genetic changes, and other illnesses. Some estimates suggest that the indirect costs of what is now called “indoor pollution” exceed $6 billion per year – more than $1 billion in medical bills and $5 billion from sick leave and reduced worker productivity.
Why should you care about household toxics? Simple. Because your greatest exposure to toxic substances is right in you home, and every toxic product used at home ultimately ends up in the environment, from which it can return to harm us. Your house or apartment is probably full of everyday products made from materials and substances that cause cancer, birth defects, and changes in genetic structure, and that weaken the immune system, leaving your body vulnerable to many kinds off diseases and infections. A multitude of common symptoms can be related to exposure to household toxics – headaches, depression, even ordinary flu symptoms might not be flu at all, but a pesticide poisoning or a reaction to your furniture polish.
Children are particularly vulnerable to the health effects of household toxins. For, example, simply because of childrens size and physiology, they are exposed to more indoor pollutants than adults standing in the same room! Children inhale more air per body weight than adults, at their respiratory rates are ten times faster that those of adults, and, since pollutants are generally heavier than air, they are at greater concentrations at the height of
Clean, sanitize and deodorize all at the same time and leave no chemical residue, which may effect food or be detrimental to the surface you are cleaning. The hot steam vapor penetrates the pores of the materials cleaned and destroys mold spores, bacteria, viruses and germs of all kinds. This proven process is the single most effective method of sanitizing known to man.
How does it work? Water!
Nature’s natural solvent … when heated to a high enough temperature it becomes superheated and changes to Dry Steam Vapor, which becomes a tremendous cleaning tool. It does so without chemicals and very little moisture, which allows the surface to dry almost immediately, removing dirt, degreasing and killing bacteria and other micro-organisms instantly.
There are several natural forces at work when the Vapor Green system cleans:
1. The first force at work is heat – which weakens the physical bond that holds dirt and stains to surfaces. The dry steam system produces vaporized water that is held at a temperature of around 290 degrees inside the system’s heating tank.
2. The second force is water, referred to as nature’s most perfect solvent. The dry steam system converts water to 94% dry, superheated dry steam vapor. How dry? Imagine taking eight minutes to pour out an 8-oz. glass of water. That’s how little moisture is in the vapor during normal use.
3. The third force is scrubbing action – which can be applied to the surface being cleaned by using an array of attachments. (No hard scrubbing is necessary). As dirt and stain particles are loosen from a surface, the particles are suspended in water droplets resulting from the vapor.
4. At this point a fourth natural force removes the stain and dirt particles…Water always flows in the direction of least resistance. Cotton towels (which are more absorbent) offer less resistance than almost any other type of material. Superheated steam vapor passed through a cotton towel makes the towel hot, but just slightly moist.
